This project was all about transforming an underutilized, open carport into a bright, secure, and comfortable hangout space for an older couple.
To enclose the space while maintaining an open, airy feel, we framed and added two new walls, an entry door, and a couple of strategically placed windows to flood the room with natural light. Structurally, the new walls were securely fastened directly into the existing concrete floor for maximum stability and weatherproofing. To ensure the new structure blended beautifully with the rest of the property, the exterior was finished in classic, timeless cedar shakes.
The result is a seamless, accessible extension of the home—perfect for relaxing, enjoying the view, and staying protected from the elements.
